It’s a set of online publications targeting the Baby Boomer (55+) set. Most of the revenue is from online ads.

They have a diverse readership according to the teaser and direct email newsletters.

We’ve been fascinated recently by businesses that build brands around a political bent. On the conservative/”Based” side, you see Grunt Style (clothing) and Black Rifle Coffee (merch business that happens to sell coffee :-).

While we personally want to keep our politics to ourselves, others don’t feel that way. It’s proven to be a decent model to build a brand around them.

In terms of this deal, one concern we’d have is around the aging nature of Boomers themselves. It’s still a question as to how much Gen X will be interested in conservative politics.

Also of concern is where these publications sit on the spectrum of misinformation versus actual reporting. One is a great business and the other is not, obviously!

If nothing else, this business for sale is an interesting thought experiment.
